Connecting Energy Star Data into Our App
When you navigate to the "Energy Charts" section for your building in our app, you'll likely see a page that looks like this. This means that your building's Portfolio Manager data has not yet been connected.
Before we can get your Energy Star data imported into our app, please ensure your buildings are setup in Energy Star Portfolio Manager (https://portfoliomanager.energystar.gov/). If your buildings are not already setup, you have three options:
Upload your data into Energy Star
Have one of your existing services (Engie, Measurbl, etc.) populate it for you into Energy Star via their respective APIs.
Manually upload your data into the app and skip the Energy Star connection. You can do this by manually uploading your meter data.
Now that your buildings are connected to Energy Star, let's get that data into our app.
Add Carbon Lighthouse as a New Contact by searching for an Existing User. Note: You can skip this step if Carbon Lighthouse is already an existing contact
Add "Carbon Lighthouse" as the Name, then click Search
Click Connect on the Carbon Lighthouse search result
Confirm the connection by clicking "Send Connection Request"
Step 2: Carbon Lighthouse will confirm the connection
Within 24-48 hours, Carbon Lighthouse will receive a notification of your request.
We'll review the connection request and if if everything looks good, we'll confim the request.
Once we've confirmed the connection request, we'll contact you - and then you can move to Step 3: "Sharing properties with Carbon Lighthouse"
Within the Sharing tab, click Share with your Utility or Service Provider for exchanging data button.
Select Carbon Lighthouse as the provider
Select Properties
Choose Bulk Sharing (Simple Option) with Exchange Data Full Access or Exchange Data Read Only Access
Click "Authorize Exchange"
Step 4: Carbon Lighthouse accepts the shared properties
After you've completed Step 3, within 24-48 hours, we'll receive a request from Portfolio Manager to authorize the property data exchange.
Once we've authorized and completed this step, we'll let you know.
At that time, you'll be able to see all your Energy Star data for your buildings in our app. Navigate to the building you connected, (App > Buildings > Your Building > Energy Charts). Your screen will now look something like this.
Got Questions?
If you have any questions during this process, you can either contact your support team directly, or you can click on the chat icon on the bottom right of your screen in our app.
